FASHION/ A Little Khaki Never Hurt Nobody….

The light has been so random for picture taking this month! These shots were taken during a Sunday afternoon stroll with Mr Alice and sun was a bit cray…it’s nice to see it though, who else isn’t loving going to/from work in the dark?!?!

I enjoyed the chance to FINALLY wear my gazelle’s out of the house- since I got them it’s been raining every time there worked with a casual outfit. This is actually a double denim outfit too; the shirt is thick denim and the bottoms are my fave Top Shop Joni jeans with a coating on. January is a tricky time for dressing up as I feel a little bit bigger than I’d like to be and don’t have too many plans that require looking all fancy pants for a while, so this is the sort of outfit I feel at home in for now

I’ve had this bomber jacket for months and wear it all the time, but don’t think I’ve ever actually styled it into a post, so here it is! I definitely feel like I’ve developed a bigger obsession for coats/jackets, footwear and sunnies over the last 12 months…even if it’s the same pair in 4 different colours! Little note re the jeans – unlike the rest of the Joni range, mothers are more of a 7/8 length so ankle boots are probably not the best look with these.

FASHION/ Festive with the fam

I feel like my pictures are getting more sparse and candid with each post…lately getting a good shot of a good outfit is proving a greater challenge than I’d have thought this time a year ago!

This is my Christmas Day #ootd which I spent with my in laws and some of their in laws. Although I was thrilled to spend the day with with my nephew and 5 day old niece (dressed as an elf and Miss Santa respectively) I was a bit sad that I didn’t see a any of my family as that hasn’t happened for about 15 years (I did see them either side of the day though for food and festive cheer)

My only regret about this outfit was that it’s not the best for crawling on the floor with children, next time some trousers may fare better! The boots are a Christmas present from Mr Alice and I’m already obsessed.

FASHION/ Current Mood.

I have literally never seen a better slogan t-shirt to fit my ever changing mood before…thanks Dom and Ink for dreaming it up!  Between that and my leopard print faux fur, I felt a bit ‘Kate Moss off duty’ while I was out Christmas shopping…don’t burst my bubble and tell me otherwise!

I’ve recently been suffering with sciatica (nothing like a bit of excruciating pain to make you feel oooooollllllllld) so wearing heels daily has been a bit of a challenge. Luckily I’ve managed to find my fave boots in a flatter version, yay!

It’s sooo weird to be able to walk around with an open jacket at this time of year is t it, is this what #christmas in California feels like?? Erm…..

FASHION/ Checked Shirt Dress ‘n Thigh Highs

This was my #ootd for the #HullBloggers Summer Event (you can read a little about it here). I’m such a shirt dress fan and thought this would be a great look because the transitional British weather seemed to have hit early…however on the day we had more typical August sunshine and I was a little bit warm lugging around boxes of glorious blogger goodies!

Super comfy, stylish AND practical soled thigh highs
I kind of had a slight mishap in the day and ripped the side split of the dress a little…so hey presto, I customised Versace style!

Had I have realised the weather was going to be a bit nicer I may have opted for different footwear, but as I’m still a bit obsessed with thigh high boots I was perfectly happy in these babies. 4 solid hours on my feet and they only hurt a little bit! The sleeves on the dress have buttons to fasten them in place when they’re rolled up like this which is really helpful.

FASHION/ Style File

You may remember a few months back that I featured in an article for my local paper the Hull Daily Mail (refresh your memory Here). They’ve now launched a regular Style File feature, which I have just been a part of! Its all about sharing your fashion likes and dislikes and your go to style, so these shots are a reflection of what a typical daytime outfit of mine consist of

Pictures by Hull Daily Mail – taken in Hull’s Old Town

How cool is my tee right? It was made by my fave sloganistas Rock on Ruby. And for anyone who adores the Lulu Guiness lips clutches, this is such a good dupe! I put the screenshot up after my pics as it’s not really visible. I think this duster coat is going to be a great piece for summer as it provides that extra little layer when you’re in the shade or be a cute lil cover up from the sun on holiday.

Duster Jacket- Boohoo

Crop Top- Rock on Ruby

Jeans- Top Shop (where else?)

Plimsols- Top Shop

Bag- Dollywood Boutique

Sunglasses- Primark

This is a screen shot of the article, it’s not quite online as yet

Thanks once again to the Hull Daily Mail for supporting local passion! Maybe one day my name could be in an article bi-line too…dare to dream!

What’s your go to style? And what your own slogan tee say?
