  • LIFESTYLE / Cheerz

This year has  created a lot of really nice and important memories for me, and it’s always nice to capture those memories in a photo as a reminder. So I was really pleased to be introduced to Cheerz to allow me to print my pics and actually display the memories!

I downloaded the app to my iPad which I connected with my iPhotos, #Facebook and #Instagram accounts to grab my favourite images (it can also link to Dropbox) to create my Cheerz box

    Some graduation images…

     Vegas pics…

    An actual cheerz photo!

Even 1 taken last weekend   I really like how they have that Polaroid appearance to them; my plan is to make a kind of photo string/washing line with wooden pegs so this’ll look cute when they’re on display.

The photos arrived within 4 days of placing my order which is a great turnaround if you’re ordering anything as a present – you can pick up magnet squares and framed collages amongst other things. As Mama Alice is a massive magnet fan, I think this may be a stocking filler for her sorted!

And how nice is this little message I had inside the box??    Really excited to get these beauties on display now!

Thanks for reading, Stay Stylish (and get snapping)

FASHION/ Travelex ‘Get the Look for Less’

Happy #sunday to you all – I hope the weekend has been good to you!
A couple of weeks ago I read a post by my girl Alex in conjunction with the Travelex ‘Get the Look for Less’ challenge – creating an entire look based around one of the top 5 A/W trends for under £100. Then the same challenge was extended to me and I thought “eek, she’s already posted some fab pieces!”

Then I thought a little bit harder and decided to take the look into items that I’m already familiar with in my wardrobe:

Oversized wool coat – great nod to the trend with the double breasted style and button detail, and one of my fave colours. It’s definitely working its way into my go to colour along with black and white.

Utility dress – anyone eagle eyed may noice that I blogged this dress in grey a few weeks ago (see the post here) which is obviously still part of this trend, but I like the black one for creating an extra fashion-ey military vibe

Lace up shoe boots- huuuuge fan of the lace up shoe trend (as my bank balance can testify to) I’m not sure if they are strictly part of the trend but they’re fierce and fit the overall look regardless, so I’m proclaiming they are!

Coat Pretty Little Thing £50/ Dress Missy Empire £22/ Boots Miss Pap £30

    Total cost: £92

I reckon the £8 spare would be well spent on a coffee and pastry or a cocktail depending on what time of the day this outfit is being worn….mmm pastries, cocktails…

If you like my look and think it should win the challenge, please vote for me! Click here to open the social voting app. Thank you in advance and wish me luck 😘

  • FASHION/ Aint Nuthin’ but a Clueless fangirl

You’ve probably seen me state this a hundred times, but it’s true – I’m a HUGE fan of the 90s chick flick Clueless. Cher Horowitz and her pals will forever be some of my fave fashion icons of all time. Me and my boy about town pal LDW always argue over who gets  to be Cher; as he’s Jewish (as she is) and has waaaay fancier clothes than me he usually wins, so Dion it is! However this is probably a little more casual than the Beverley Hills gals would ever rock, but it’s my Curious Alice take on their look.

Lots of texture going on – the skirt is thick wool (and high waisted, which you may not be able to see) the jumper is THE softest thing I think I’ve ever touched in my life. I kind of wish they’d have had a class of 1983 though, which is my birth year, but there is a Brooklyn pizza sweatshirt so they may be forgieven…the jumper is kind half tucked in as I wanted that relaxed kind of vibe rather than a full on fitted look, but I’ll definitely be using the high waist to create a look like that soon.

The boots are an awesome mix of comfy yet sassy (adore that word right now, apologise for the over use) and they’ve had a lot of compliments around the office already

Jumper Project Social T/ Skirt Top Shop/ Boots Sole Wish

Does anyone else channel their inner Clueless, or is it just me? Let me know!

  • BEAUTY/ Fab Hair, Hells Yeah… #TOTALHAIRCONFIDENCE

As well as needing to get better with make up, my hair sitch needs some work…it’s very fine, poker straight and I’m not the best at styling it. But I think I may have met the answer to my hair ‘mares this in the form of Mr Rick Roberts!    I visited his gorgeous #Beverley salon (right near Mama Alice’s house, so we sneaked in a quick coffee date) for a session of pampering and hair education using some fabulous relaunched Matrix products.

Firstly, the salon looks and feels like a chic boutique hotel. Secondly, the   care and attention from the stylish staff was easily as good one – prosecco and water served on a silver tray, beautiful smelling lotions and potions and a relaxing hand massage to start my appointment. Fabulous.    Rick and I chatted a lot about hair care (I was made up that he liked my DIY blonde ombré) and he’s definitely busted a few of my long standing myths – products will still work when you use them all the time and drying your hair under with a brush isn’t the best way to go. The biggest one for me was that if you use a lot of products at once they won’t stop working; in fact they’ll work really well together. He proved it by mixing up some ‘cocktails’ of product and showed me how to create a good hair foundation before moving on to the styling.   Rick styled my hair in glam 70s meets #AlexaChung  undone waves using his stunning #Balmain straiteners (seriously, am I the ONLY ONE who didn’t know they did hair care?!?!) which I’ve been practising at home.. I’m a work in progress, but there’s definitely progress being made!

These are the #Matrix products Rick used to help give me #TOTALHAIRCONFIDENCE They smell AMAZING  by the way.

Thanks to Rick and his team for helping me get my hair groove ‘oooon and to Matrix for letting him share his expertise with me. I’ll be back soon!

  • FASHION/ Retro Autumn Vibes

I’ve got to be honest; I kind of borrowed this look from an e-mail I received from In The Style a couple of weeks ago. To be fair, I already had all of these pieces in my wardrobe so I’m sure I would’ve stumbled into it eventually anyway! A lovely mixture of my fave neutral colours mixed with a classic print and lovely oxblood tones for the Autumn. Total sass!

I’ve gotten so much wear out of all off these pieces since getting them, a particular fave combo has been the shirt paired with my ripped skinny jeans from my last post as it’s a little oversized so looks really cool untucked with a pair of barely three heels…is it too much that the heels were snakeskin, or too fabulous? I can’t decide. The skirt and boots both come in a few different colours so true to form I’m sure I’ll be picking up more of them up soon and you’ll be seeing them shortly after!
Shirt In The Style/ Skirt Pretty Little Thing (sold out, similar from #MissyEmpire here)/ Boots Ego/ Hat Dorothy Perkins

Hope you enjoyed my retro Autumn look, looking forward to see yours soon.
