FASHION/ THAT outfit
You may have read a post I did a couple of weeks ago about some serious outfit judgement I experienced on the streets of my home town (if you didn’t catch it, you can see it here) well, I thought I’d share the look that caused such a big fuss!
Trying my hand at this ‘fish eyes’ thing….nope, not convinced…
Fine right? Nothing vulgar on show, weather appropriate, no (well, not too much) overhang….some people are just plain strange! I’m still getting used to these jeans not being high waisted and keep trying to pull them up. Definitely liking the more exaggerate rips around the knee so there’s no awkward marks after you’ve been sitting down a while, even if it does mean you can see how odd my knees look when I bend my legs back. Ah well!

FASHION/ All Grey, All Day
The best way to take a dress you bought in summer into autumn whilst it’s still nice weather? Bring out the thigh highs! It’s definitely not cold enough for tights yet, whereas long boots are fabulous all year round.
This is the same place, same day, about 3 meters apart from the leaves. I think something displease me, check out that weird ass pout!
This is one of the gorgeous gift bag items from the recent #HullBloggers event

BEAUTY/ Mud Pack Day
Today is officially #MudPackDay – frankly while the weather is weird and everyone’s tired I can’t think of a better time!
To mark the day I was challenged by VictoriaPlumb.com to make a home made face pack to prove that they’re just as good (and cheaper) than store bought varieties…so I spent the weekend plotting!
After a bit of online research I decided to make a citrus oatmeal mask
Preparation
– Remove all make up so you’re fresh faced for the mask to do its thang – Tie all your hair back or pin it away from your face if it’s short; you don’t want to get it sticky!
Ingredients
1/2 cup of oatmeal for gentle exfoliation
3 table spoons of natural Greek yoghurt – as well as helping to thicken/bind the ingredients it’s apparently good for reducing pores, moisturising and preventing spots
2 table spoons of honey (I used forest honey) – has antibacterial properties and helps tighten your skin (I’ll stay looking 21 forever, yay!)
Juice of an orange – moisturises the skin (as well as smelling all zesty and yum) Mix it all together and you come up with something like this – is it a face mask? Could it be breakfast? It can be both!
I used an old, clean brush to apply the mask so my hands didn’t get sticky. However there was a still a little bit of spillage, luckily this is really yummy too so catching the bits that fall is kinda nice…After you apply, leave for about 15 minutes
When washing it off don’t forget to catch the bits of oatmeal before they go down the drain; they’re obviously a lot softer after mixing with wet ingredients but you don’t want them blocking your pipes. My skin felt very fresh and smooth after removal, and it definitely made me feel a bit more chilled out in the midst of trying to redress my work-life balance. I’d take that as a win!
The only ingredient I had to buy to create this face pack was the yoghurt as I buy everything else in my weekly shop, so this cost a ridiculous £1 to make and makes enough for 2/3 applications…great for girls night in!
Now I’ve made one and seen how easy it is I’ll definitely be making more, so if you have any good recipes feel free to get in touch and share them with me.

FASHION / Celeb Style round up
Another fab week of style – it’s definitely making me think about upping my game when I travel and for nights out during the winter months!
The jacket maketh the sass
I’m all over duster jackets for adding a little something extra to a simple look, especially in a fabulously autumnal shade like Selena and Mollie have gone for. Both colours I have my beady eyes on! Lately I’ve found Boohoo really great for duster coats and jackets as they have a massive selection of colours, styles and fabrics (my face being crepe or super thin scuba)Disco denim dream
Funk it ‘uuuuuuup Kendall! Such a fab way to embrace the 70s trend in a more cool and subtle way, pairing it with tan/black accessories keeps it really classic feeling. Cute touch with the Pom Pom too! #ASOS have some great jumpsuits to take on this trend here and here and here. You could also get a similar look with denim separates if a jumpsuit isn’t for youGirls night out
*(just a little aside- my brother in law was in the recent film Girls Night Out. Just thought I’d share) Two completely different #ootn vibes but I’m equally crushing on both and totally want something similar in my wardrobe. Sadly for me Georgia’s Lavish Alice checked number seems to unavailable…sob! Alex’ #Balmain blazer dress is available, but still sadly I can’t afford the price tag . However I’ve found a version by South Avenue that’s much easier on my bank balance.
A week of awards and fashion week glam
I’m VERY excited about this orangey/mustardy colour for A/W! January has styled it in a more summery way as she’s in sunny LA, but this will also look great with black or tan for chillier weather…I’m sure I’ll be proving this to you in a future post as I’m in the throes of purchasing some dresses in a similar colour!
Rochelle looks hot. Like, HOOOOOOOTTTTTTT. This Julian Macdonald is a damn fine creation and looks amazing. Perfect choice of nude #louboutin court shoes to finish off. I salute you ‘Chelle!
Hope you enjoyed the round up- don’t forget to also catch up with the rest of the week’s posts FASHION/ LOTD and BEAUTY/ Benefit Air Patrol.

BEAUTY/ Benefit Air Patrol
As you know I’m all in on fashion/style posts and hardly ever do anything beauty, let alone a post on a single product. That’s how you know that I’m pretty into the new Benefit Air Patrol. I bought it 3 days after it launched as an impulse purchase when I was buying some more of my fave Roller Lash mascara (which was £10 off on special offer, score!) so I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now
I always like the #benefit packaging as they really commit to the product name; I’m totally digging the wing tip top and muted grey airline colours. The top makes it really easy to find in my make up bag as well.Benefit advertise this as a BB cream eyelid primer that “helps protect your delicate eyelids against sun, smoke and pollutants” and adjusts to you natural skin tone…tall order right? There’s also this unique Cushion Calm tip that’s meant to be “softer than your pinkie” *
It is indeed as soft as blending in with you finger, in fact its even better because you don’t get the liquid on your hands. As it was described to me when I bought it, it’s almost like massaging your eyes awake in the morning! Another fab feature is the click release at the bottom- click right for the amount you need (it says one click per eye which is about right) but if too much comes out, we’ve all done it when we’re starting a new product haven’t we, simply click right and it gets sucked back in…I mean, how fab??I’ve used it on my under eyes as well as on the lids (I’m not sure you’re supposed to but hey) and found that it blends in really well to my pale-ish skin tone and creates a really nice base. For the first week I just used this with a little eyeliner and mascara and it looked really good, no eye bags! Particularly great as I haven’t been sleeping well lately. For the last week I’ve applied shadow and a tiny bit of concealer to the corners of my under eyes and it stayed put alllllll day which doesn’t usually happen (re-dressing eyeliner that’s slid under your eyes by midday is not cute).
Verdict: impulse purchases can pay off, and this is definitely my new go to
*quotes taken from Benefit website, correct at September 2015
I’d really like to hear anyone else’s experiences with trying this out too, so tweet/comment and let me know
