  • FASHION/ Lets Disco

I’ve been messing about with my hair again – I realised I missed my ombre so it’s slowly going back in. Right now it’s a mix of a blondey/coppery but hopefully will be exactly how I want it soon.

This is my outfit from a recent girls night out and I felt groovy baby, yeah! I’m sure you’ve seen this style in a few different colours on social media – I actually have it in 2 more colours and am contemplating getting more…is that allowed?

A couple of things to mention about the pics: 1- the first one was shot just as the sun went in 2- I got a bit carried getting my moves ‘oooon in the last shot so my top rode up a little…Gloria Eestfan was right- the rhythm IS going to get you…

I’m so obsessed with this powder blue colour for summer! Little tip- nude underwear is a must for this colour. I’ve been wearing the pieces separately as well (you may remember the top from my Peanut Hottie post a couple of weeks ago, see here). And the shoes…also seen in my Spring is in the Air post last month, proof that their holographic shimmery fabness means they’ll go with errthang.

    Top- Pretty Little Thing

    Trousers- Pretty Little Thing

Bag- Pretty Little Thing, sold out similar Here

    Shoes- Missguided

How would you style this coord, and what colour would you pick? I’m sure you’ll be seeing my other colours at some point too!

  • FASHION/ Weekly Style Round Up

There’s been a lot of events for everyone to rock some serious fashion this week it seems! My list was quite a bit longer  but I’ve edited it down a little bit to make this a lovely little post to read over #sunday brekkie/lunch.

     Some Pretty Dresses

*DISCLAIMER* including SamCam in this post isn’t in any way an expression of my political beliefs or statements. It’s simply a woman making an effort to wear a nice dress, and I appreciate that.

Check Solange going on Victoria Beckham on us! This is a gorgeous colour on her and a gat way to showcase her unique style but in a way that is a little easier to recreate. I’ve found this gorgeous smock dress at River Island that’s the same colour but a slightly different shape. Him looking forward to snapping it up.

Bit formal for a book signing but I’d expect nothing less from Mrs West. She knows how good a draped dress looks on us curvy gals! I’ve seen a really similar dress in ASOS which would look great on a more refined evening out.

    90s Vibes
I’m such a fan of dungarees this season…but every time I seek out a pair I like, they sell out before I can hit buy! Sob. These ladies are working this look, though I feel like Billie needs to either change her shirt or her shoes to get a more cohesive look (I like them as separate pieces). Boohoo have a cool pair of skinny #dungarees (they also come in blue). I also really like. Good boiler/jumpsuit like Alex’s- they super easy just to throw on and can be dressed up or down. I’ve spotted THE best bargain ever as a double for hers in Select Fashion for under £25, bargain or what?! This Lauren Pope for Accessoryo is a great match for Caroline’s fierce leopard print clutch.

      Trousers Done Well

I feel like Jamie Winstone has really hit her fashion groove with the 90s rewind style , she looks soooo frickin’ cool! Kind of like the Fresh Prince going out to a fancy restaurant. I’ve seen a lot of similar vintage jackets in Poorboy Boutique where anything you pick up will be a total one off, which is kinda nice.

Brooke looks uh-may-zing, this may be my fave look of hers ever in fact. It looks a little like the Kim K look from a couple of weeks back but with a colour pop, such a gorgeous and classy feel overall and I want it head to toe! Pretty Little Thing have one in a similar colour that’s a full on maxi length if you wanted to play with the proportions of it a bit, if not In the Style have some gorgeous waterfall versions in summer brights that’ll look great when eh weather perks up. The trousers are really similar to some I own by Miss Foxy. I actually have them in 3 colours – but at £8.90 a pair (AND 30% student discount) I don’t feel one bit of guilt for that! Or that I want them in more colours too…is that weird?

    As Seen on Me

Naya hasn’t let being preggo get in the way of being stylish and I appreciate that. Her look here is really similar to one I wore on Friday whilst out shopping     My outfit deets-   Coat/ Missy Empire (sold out, other colours/sleeveless versions available Here) Jeans/ Top Shop Striped Shirt/ River Island (available in store) Shoe Boots/ Public Desire

That’s all my celeb faves for another week, thanks for reading!

  • FASHION/ Lorraine High Street Fashion Awards (2015)

I’m a long time fan of fashion, the #Lorraine show and stylist Mark Heyes – so how excited do you think I was that they pitched up in Hull to announce some of the nominees for the annual High Street Fashion Awards…er, very! I dragged my friend Tammy along to see the catwalk and grab a ‘quick’ coffee…5 hours and several shopping bags later we finally went home, oops! I managed to take a few quick snaps of each nominee (you can see the entire VT on ITV player or on the Lorraine website  Here)

This is our newly crowned #MissHull Maryann helping Mark, who we’re all rooting for to go all the way at the #MissEngland finals later this year.

    Best Premium Brand Nominees

     Coast
I’m dying over this dress! Shop it Here. I also came across these two beauties on their site, so chic and fashion forward

Reiss  Monochrome, print…it’s a winner to me! And these shoes….this is an outfit that’ll last well into A/W. Click to shop before they go! JacketTrousers and Shoes.

    Whistles
A fave brand of a certain #DuchessOfCambridge, I can’t quite see her rocking these flatform #sandals though! Great #tropical print for #summer but done in #monochrome to keep it classy. Shop the Skirt similar Top and Shoes

Ted Baker One of my fave brands for a long time! This outfit is perfect for a wedding or #graduation for my fellow students (which isn’t long now, yay!)  you can shop the Dress and Shoes on their site.

French Connection This is the way to do S/S using a darker tone – I couldn’t get a good enough pic of the model for this look, her strut was quick as well as fierce! Click to see the SkirtTop and Sandals. There’s also a matching Top to this #skirt is you really wanted to go full on with this print and make it a #coord.

I also got to have a little chat with Mark- as one of the inspirations for starting my blog it was lovely to meet him and learn how lovely (and funny) he really is! Luckily I also brough my Selfy Stick which came in handy for getting some group shots

Which brand would you vote for in this category? Tweet using #StripeAPose to join in the discussion! I’m now patiently waiting for my invite to the awards…hint hint! Hehe.

FASHION/ Met Gala Style Picks (2015)

I’m a bit to late to this party but I stayed til the end! I did have a much longer list of styles I like this time yesterday, but I guess I’m fickle and didn’t like them as much when it came to actually posting them.

    The Naked Dress

What a battle of the divas this one is! This is definitely a trend we expect from J-Lo (fierce) kind of what we expect from Kim (when she’s not completely naked obviously) but Beyonce?? This is totally maverick for her, AND she’s the most naked of them all! I adore her dress, but I wish the ponytail would’ve been more back and centred as for me that would’ve looked a bit sleeker. And I really the flouncy feathers of Kim’s frock, really OTT a l a #MetGala should be

    Bit of Shimmer Shimmy

I feel like I haven’t featured my fave Rosie on my #celebstyle picks for ages as she hasn’t been around…but wommph, here she is and lookin uh-may-zing to boot!

    It’s all in the detail

The Dame done good! She looks elegant and stylish (with just a hint of naked in showing her bra, naughty) yet in trend with those cut outs. I maybe would’ve lost those earrings but still gorgeous.

Who were your best dressed looks a this year’s #MetGala2015 ?

  • FASHION/ I Carried a Watermelon

Be honest, who HASN’T uttered this line along with Jennifer ‘Baby’ Grey in #DirtyDancing ? When I worked abroad we used to quote this film endlessly around the office “when’s Mo back?…Friday” was all you’d hear! But anyway, thanks to New Look and their range of quirky summer bags, I can now carry my own (and significantly lighter) lil watermelon and look fabulous…
NL also do a matching purse, how cute! I adore this colour palette for sunny days, the tomato red is a gorgeous change from my usual pinks and blues. And these Primark shoes are becoming a fave of mine for a more chic flat shoe, and they were only £6 which is an amazing bargain. If I’d have taken my sunnies off (and I intended to, but the sun was a little bright and squinting isn’t sexy) you’d have seen I’ve been experimenting with some mint green eye makeup…maybe I’ll post that another time.

    Bag- New Look
Sleeveless Duster Coat- Top Shop (sold out online)

    Crop- Rock on Ruby

    Jeans- Top Shop

    Shoes- Primark

    Sunglasses- Primark

    Hope you enjoyed my look
