  • FASHION/ Weekly Style Round Up

Happy Sunday to you all, I hope the weather is a little better wherever you are than it is in Hull today! And to think – this time last year I was relaxing in swimwear outside listening to a wedding singer…not as weird as it sounds!

This week is going to be celeb style and how to get the look – a little like the ‘We All Need Good Jeans’ post a few weeks back (See it Here)

    Emma Bunton
Mel looks fab too, but Em wins my heart because it’s a refresh on animal print and she’s looking a bit tropical for her Marrakech trip to celebrate a certain someone’s #DB40 …..

    Steal Emma’s Style

I switched the biker to a sleeveless version at the shoe to these sexy lil mesh booties – if you’re going to the sun, you wanna look hot but stay cool!

Trousers- *exact match* Moschino Cheap n Chic at Farfetch

    Biker Gilet- Top Shop

    Booties- Public Desire

    Gemma Atkinson

Gemma is working this dress at an awards event, but it would look sooooo gorge at an end of year ball or #wedding too. Best thing is that it’s by one of my favourite #occasion wear brands

    Get Gemma’s Glam ‘oooooon

As you can’t really see Gem’s #shoes I just picked a pair that I liked – simple yet in keeping with #summer style. After all, people may see them when you’re carrying them home at the end of a fab night!

    Dress- *exact match* Honor Gold

    Shoes- AX Paris

    Bag- River Island

    Kim Kardashian West

I’ve been completely drawn to all #black looks when the sun’s been out lately and this particular version is just too glam to give a damn whilst being completely simple. Perfect.

    Be Klassy like Kim

This #dress is an almost exact style match, except it’s a #maxi so it’ll give the look a little more of a 70s feel which is a fab look for S/S. The studs in the shoes just add a little bit of interest when they leak at as you strut. Kim’s wearing a low pony but I though a high wrap version wold work well too, luckily my girl Popey has a fab range for those of us with shorter locks

    Dress- Abbey Clancy for Matalan

Hair- Syn Snap Ponytail by Hair Rehab London

    Shoes- Missguided

    Amber Rose

It’s very rare that I like what Amber wears, but I guess by the laws of average it had to happen sometime! Such an easy and fierce look to create

Be an Amber gambler in Khaki

My version is kinda mish mash but still cool! The waistcoat it maxi as its bang on trend (and the belt can make it a more flattering silhouette) the shoes are more funky with the cage and print detailing.

    Dress- Pretty Little Thing

    Waistcoat- Pretty Little Thing

    Shoes- Missguided

    Sunnies- Missguided

What do you think of these looks, what would you wear/ change?

  • FASHION / Putting on the Ritz *Flashback Friday*

I really enjoyed my #flashbackfriday post last week! so thought I’d do another!

The Memory – Tea at The Ritz 21 June 2013

I can be very specific with the date of this because it was important – longest day of the year, Prince William’s 31st birthday….and my 9th successful year of being 21! I think most people call this turning 30; but I don’t care what they put on the cake, I don’t think my head will ever move past 18!

Anyway, Mr Alice pulled out all the stops to help me achieve another bucket list fantasy by taking me to tea at The Ritz. It did NOT disappoint – the staff (as you would expect) were superb, the atmosphere was happy and I didn’t think it was possible to eat so much of such little food items! It was the most amazing #birthday celebration EVER.

    Present Day Inspo

(Just trying to be funny with this pic, which wasn’t taken at The Ritz)

Honestly with this look I wouldn’t update the overall thing – I feel the #skater style of is great for my shape as is the lace detailing round the waist. The style is a really classic one that Philip Armstrong channels a lot that I adore

(Pics taken from the Philip Armstrong website)

My dress is by AX Paris and it’s still a really popular style in (I actually own it in cream too but haven’t had the opportunity to wear it even after all this time! Must change that)

I definitely tweak the accessories to make them more current. The shoes. I’d still keep simple (the lace detail is enough) but go for something a bit more summer like these New Look barely there sandals

However I’d definitely carry a pair of Roll a Sole pumps with me for afterwards when me feet get ore walking around London!

I’d need a bag that was big enough to fit in essentials but small enough to fit nicely under a table, so this Dorothy Perkins one is ideal

And as before, my sleek ballet bun is courtesy of Lauren Pope’s Hair Rehab London

What do you think of my #Ritz look – what would you wear, or what have you worn if you’ve been?

Wishing you a great start to #May a lovely #Friday and a fabulous #BankHoliday weekend to all of workers in the UK!

    Stay Stylish

  • FASHION/ Re-Worked Vintage and Sassy Black Lips

I’ve never really considered vintage clothing before. I think it looks great but I never thought it was my style as frankly I don’t think I’m quite that cool! But I like the idea of not wearing what everyone around me is wearing, so I pushed my comfort zone a little (I’m always telling people they should do that so just practising what I preach!) and picked up this lil number.

How cool right? This is a dress that was made from two #vintage pieces. Stretch is always helpful as I have a big booty that needs accommodating! Even thought it’s vintage and therefore #unique, there are more in the same #style but different colour/pattern combos.

    Dress – Poorboy Boutique

Trainers – Converse All Star Ox

    Bag – Dollywood Boutique

    Sunnies – Primark

What are your thoughts on a bit of vintage cool?

  • FOOD/ My (Nutty) Milshake Bring All da Boys to tha Yard…(and the Girls)

…damn right, it’s better than yours…I can teach you…no charge though. Hehe.

I’m nutty for peanut butter, and if you’ve ever seen my social media you may have seen me declare my appreciation for Peanut Hottie over the winter months. So I was super excited when they got in touch and asked if I wanted to take on their summer #milkshake challenge…er, try and stop me! I’m also a dedicated follower of  Slimming World (in case I haven’t mentioned it, I’ve lost almost 5st using their plans and kept it off for 2 and a half years) so it’s fabulous that this also fits in with that lifestyle for me!

Peanut Hottie Milkshake – How to

I used the simple recipe on the website (which you can get here) but tweaked it a little to suit me – I used skimmed milk, 4 tsp (slightly heaped) of #PeanutHottie powder and added half a banana and a squirt of Choc Shot (also Slimming World Friendly). I adore the combo of peanut butter and banana, I’m thinking that should be their next flavour…hint!        I assure you, it’s every bit as delicious as it looks! I tried to decorate the top with a little more #ChocShot and banana chips but it kinda sank…maybe a little cocoa powder for next time?

Purely for comparison purposes (obviously) I made a shake in both flavours (peanut and peanut butter and chocolate). It’s super quick and fuss free so is a great to relax in the garden with after a long day at work or after school. There’s also a more indulgent recipe for the Milshake which you can see here.

    Top- Pretty Little Thing

Lip Colour- MUA Lipstick in Bare

BUT….my nutty treats don’t end there!

A fellow #SlimmingWorld buddy recently shared a recipe with me for Peanut Hottie cheesecake and I’ve been dying to try it out…so here it is!

Just as yummy! As you can see I haven’t used a base but that’s easily rectified using some good crumbly biscuits (or some Hifi bars/ Alpen Light bars a la Slimming World). I’ve also switched out the chocolate chips for a squeeze of Choc Shot and sliced banana  *the syn values stated on this recipe have not been calculated by me, so I am unable to personally verify their accuracy*

Have you tried Peanut Hottie or any of its recipes, are you as nutty for it as I am? If you have any others good #recipes not on the Peanut Hottie website it’d be great to hear them!

    Stay Stylish (and deliciously nutty)

  • FASHION / Breakfast at Tiffany’s *Flashback Friday*

It’s nice to relive lovely memories from the past right? So I thought I’d try something a little different – taking one of my previous looks from a #FBF and put together some ideas to update it a little…

The Memory – New York City, August 2013

A bucket list dream come true! Thanks to Mr Alice, who whisked me away to the Big Apple for my 30th Birthday. This is genuinely how you do Breakfast at Tiffany, by the way, they didn’t refuse to let me in or anything! See

At the height of summer I don’t think I would’ve survived in such a covered in black look a la Hepburn, so I did I kind of girly version with shoes I was I could walk around in. Not gonna lie, kind of wish I’d have added the tiara though!

    Present Day Inspo

If I was going to do it again (and if I have it my way, I will) I’d up the ante a little – slightly more glam day dress that was maybe a little more Carrie Bradshaw. These AX Paris beauties are the perfect example

With shoes I’d still stick with flats because I can only strut so far in a good pair of heels these days, but I’d just update the shape a little so that they look a bit more current. Dorothy Perkins have a gorgeous selection (and they’re all discounted today, go go go!)

If you’re wasting standing up you need a shoulder/ arm bag so you’re hands are free. I was torn between two options: this gorgeously girly River Island fluff, or this more chic New Look tote

I’d still keep my hair, which is courtesy of Hair Rehab London

What do you think of my updated look, which pieces would you pick or change?

    Stay Stylish
