  • LIFESTYLE/ Slogan mugs to sum up life

I do enjoy a good slogan – think I may have mentioned that once or twice before! Haha. I was therefore VERY excited when Rock on Ruby brought out their new mugs. This is the one I went for, along with my ‘Current Mood’ tee (as featured in a previous post here) I think I’m pretty summed up!
Mug Rock on Ruby/ Magazine LOCO (featuring my latest article ‘The Stylish Traveller’)

I’ve been a bit rubbish with posting for the last couple of weeks; partly due to not feeling well, partly due to life kicking my ass a teeny bit…I resolve to do better in February!

  • FASHION/ The Bomb(er) dot com

My coat addiction has definitely been honed into a bomber jacket fetish – I think this is my fifth this year?!?! My justification is that the lovely blush/beige colour will carry me through to spring, and the soft suede fabric was too dreamy to resist…

Thanks to my girl Beckie for taking these pics in the most windswept conditions!            This last pic may appear sideways. It uploaded the right way up, so I’m damned if I know why!

This is a fab way to wear all black but not look like you’re wearing you’re wearing all black – don’t get me wrong, I’m super happy rocking the moody/ninja vibes, but it’s nice to break it up a bit sometimes. You may not be able to see in these pics, but the heel on my boots adds an extra dimension to the all black too (you can see more of them in a previous post here)

Has anyone else developed a similar kind of coat obsession? I need to know I’m in good company over here!

  • The Evolution of Curious Alice

Welcome to the newly improving Curious Alice Loves…!

Starting with my gorgeous new blog header created for my by the lovely (and ridiculously patient) Jemma, who some of you may know as Dorkface. There’s a new layout to match (the old one was great but didn’t match quite as well as I’d hoped) that’s moved my ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ info into the top right corner (the top left takes you back to the main page)

And finally, as so many people mentioned this to me, I have my social media icons (under construction at this stage) and pic/bio on my home page!

You’ll notice I said ‘improving’ that’s because there are still a few kinks to work out with the new layout and widgets to get them all working and exactly perfect, and also because I’m planning a few more lil changes too…stay tuned!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like the new look

    Stay Stylish,

    J 😘xx

  • BEAUTY/ Balmain Hair

I can’t believe I went so long not knowing that Balmain were in the hair game! Luckily the super talented Rick Roberts skooled me a little about their products when I visited his salon.

You may have notice in some of my more recent posts that my hair has been a little curlier, and that’s a trick that Rick taught me with the Balmain Straighteners. I previously had my GHD’s for about 7 years and they’re fab, but I was ready to try something new when Mama Alice treated me to these beauties for Christmas!

They’re a lot lighter to use and you can change the heat settings, which is great for different types of hair and styles (mine is fine but needs a bit if extra oomph to hold a curl). The best thing is the titanium plates – they glide through your hair soooooo easily, unlike GHDs which are a bit awkward to twirl around without yanking your hair or letting it fall out of the plates. My only negative is the rollaway heat mat, as it’s a lot smaller than my previous one.

Have you tried out any Balmain Hair products, did you know they existed?

    Stay Stylish,

    J 😘xx

  • FASHION/ A Little Khaki Never Hurt Nobody….

The light has been so random for picture taking this month! These shots were taken during a Sunday afternoon stroll with Mr Alice and sun was a bit cray…it’s nice to see it though, who else isn’t loving going to/from work in the dark?!?!

I enjoyed the chance to FINALLY wear my gazelle’s out of the house- since I got them it’s been raining every time there worked with a casual outfit. This is actually a double denim outfit too; the shirt is thick denim and the bottoms are my fave Top Shop Joni jeans with a coating on. January is a tricky time for dressing up as I feel a little bit bigger than I’d like to be and don’t have too many plans that require looking all fancy pants for a while, so this is the sort of outfit I feel at home in for now

I’ve had this bomber jacket for months and wear it all the time, but don’t think I’ve ever actually styled it into a post, so here it is! I definitely feel like I’ve developed a bigger obsession for coats/jackets, footwear and sunnies over the last 12 months…even if it’s the same pair in 4 different colours! Little note re the jeans – unlike the rest of the Joni range, mothers are more of a 7/8 length so ankle boots are probably not the best look with these.
Shirt New Look, similar here/ Jeans Topshop, similar here/ Jacket Boohoo (similar here)/ Trainers Adidas at Schuh

First outfit post of 2016, tick! Thanks for reading
