BEAUTY/ Kiko Pump it Up mascara, Campus Idol collection
For the last few weeks I’ve been experimenting with this limited edition Kiko Cosmetics mascara that I was introduced to at the #HBMarchMeet along with a few other bits from their Campus Idol (see the event post here) as part of my ongoing ‘trying to get better with makeup’ quest. I think it’s actually starting to work now, yippee! Look out for some of the looks I try out in future posts or on social media.
I really like the packaging of this collection but, whereas the actual product design is clean and simple in line with the brand, I was a teeny bit disappointed that the cool varsity theme didn’t carry through to distinguish it as a limited edition.
The mascara itself is great colour and coverage, it’s as good as any of the other higher priced brands. At less than £6 it’s such a bargain! The shape of the brush is great for separating lashes, with the exception of the end few bristles at the end that kind of gather a clod of product which is a bit awkward to get rid of and get a bit messy. Despite this, it has now gone into permanent circulation in my makeup bag as my go-to.

FASHION. FOOD. FUN./ #HBMarchMeet
I sooo enjoy spending time with my blogger buddies! Last weekend I co-hosted another lovely, but much smaller, get together for the Hull Bloggers collective, made extra exciting because I got meet to meet quite a new faces! Here’s a snapshot of the day
Place cards for every attendee (thanks to Ashton for the cute logo she created for us) to remember what we ordered and help with introductions to our newbie guests (who are all lovely!) they were accompanied by a random question to ask to get conversation flowing.

Say Whaaaaat…??/ Things my blogging self worries about
I’m one of life’s worriers, so for me it’s completely expected that I would worry about a part of my life that I’m really passionate about!
Sale itemsFirstly, I’m not into high street sales because fighting with a lot of other women for one item (a la Becky Bloomwood in the Shopaholic series) does NOT sound like fun to me, online I’m a little warmer to. However these days I try not to buy things in the sale because I may not be able to link to them in any future blog posts I do. If I don’t feel like wearing it immediately, I may lose the chance to share it ‘properly’.
New clothes
Fairly similar to the above- I worry about not posting enough outfits featuring fairly new clothes, because it somehow makes me feel less relevant as someone who primarily likes to blog about fashion
NOT being able to shop??
This is a weird one! But it’s that age old problem we all have: when you have money to burn there’s nothing you want, yet when you’re feeling a bit poor that’s when all the sassy-ass garms hit! This seems to be happening more often than not lately, hence why my #ootd posts have been a lil’ thin on the ground
Not not having enough outfits to shoot because I just have the same 5 items in EVERY colourThis will not come as a surprise to anyone who has kept up with my fashion posts for a prolonged period! If I like a style of item, it somehow ends up in my wardrobe in at least 2 colours, in some cases up to 4! I do think the colour of a piece can help to dictate the way I style something for sure, but I do sometimes worry that anyone reading my posts may think “this, again?!?!”
Shame in my Insta-gameWhen I think about it, this is probably an anxiety that a lot of girls have in today’s society- making their page look fabulous, glamour ours and aspirational to anybody who happens across it….and that’s a whole other issue- I want a lot more people to happen across mine!! I’m open that I’m not the best out there at doing pics, but I enjoy trying to make them look interesting and reflect what’s happening in my life (with a teeny bit of sheen over the top). My main problem is that what usually seems to be happening is that I’m eating out!!

FASHION/ As if!
I really like the vibe of taking a super sexy material like leather (or pleather, in this case) and cas-ing it down a bit with a cool tee . The problem is that I don’t usually get both of things in my wardrobe at the same time…not any more! Big shout out to Dom, the designer of my awesome Clueless tee – when he launched this collection he asked his Instagram followers what other designs we would like to see, I said Clueless…days later he had sketched out this beauty. I realised after these pics were taken that my skirt wasn’t in the right place- it should be high waisted and look a bit more flattering than this! And FYI: my bitch face is also back a little bit…
I’m so pleased it was sunny enough to wear my fave Quay Australia sunnies too, and it was reasonably warm for this time of year too! This was the very first time I got to wear my new EGO boots as well – very D&G, very fab, and (as an extra for this cray cray weather) totally wipe clean if you step in that awful winter mud.

LIFESTYLE/ Coffee fit for a diva
I’ve always liked coffee from being little- I have really find memories of having ‘elevenses’ at my Nana’s house during the school holidays where I’d have biscuits and a super milky weak coffee.
However it’s only been in the last year that I fully understand the true power of coffee, and how a really great brand can really help improve my mood. Weirdly though, if I’m tired then coffee can also chill me out to go to sleep! Does that happen to anyone else? I’ve been trying to track down this particular flavour for soooooooo long and it’s totally been worth the wait, but I’d like to issue a public plea to Douwe Egberts here and now: please stock in it Hull!!!
It goes perfectly in my new diva mug dontcha think? This is a one off cup (not created especially for me) by a fab company I’m connected with through work that design promotional items fo business – I picked up some fab bits from their latest event that I’ll hopefully be sharing on social media soon.
