  • BEAUTY/ Mini Haul

I really am keeping up with my pledge to get a bit better with make up (see last month’s post on Ombre lips here) so that means buying new goodies to try! I picked up these on a post birthday shopping trip

Top Shop Hollgraphic Make-Up BagTop Shop Glow Dome in ZephyrTop Shop Lip Ombre in Perplex

I’ve been desperate for a new make up bag for ages, and voila! It’s giving me all kinds of summery mermaid-like vibes. It makes it more fun to put new goodies inside too dontcha think! This glow done also comes in another colour but I liked the goldy undertones of this one, it leaves a lovely shimmer once it’s blended in. And, as I mentioned previously, I picked up anothe lip ombre in these gorge reddy orange shade. This one will be getting packed for Vegas for sure.

Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff 3 in 1 Body ScrubCocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Oil-Free Body Moisturiser (available at Superdrug)

I’ve been a total CB convert since I reviewed some of their range earlier this year (see the post here) And have searched high and low for this moisturiser in  Yorksire, not sure if it was sold out or my local branches are just mean and don’t stock it…but I’m glad I finally got my hands on some! It’s a delish smelling combo of cocoa and girly goodness and is glorious when used after the Tough Stuff. I’m now officially putting out a plea to their founder Marissa Carter- PLEASE BRING OUT A SHOWER GEL, IT WOULD AN AWESOME ADDITION!!

Little Mix Love palette Shade 1Makeup Revolution Eyedust in Cautious

I’m a fan of Little Mix but I got this because it was the best neutrals palette that would fit in my make up bag. I’m all about a more natural eye at the minute so this perfect. The eye glitter will just enhance this for a evenings, and it was a total bargain at £1! I’d usually go for Barry M dazzle dust but thought for the price it’d be rude not to try and so far I’m just as impressed.
Beauty UK Posh Pout in Corally Incorrect

This brand is new to my radar but I’m a fan of a good lip crayon and wanted a coral shade. This has turned out to have a really nice sheen to it that makes a little more subtle for a daytime lip and also really cute for summer. I’ll definitely be checking out more of their range soon.

Have you got any other recommendations on make up items I should try in my beauty quest? And what are your recommendations for any YouTube tutorials I should watch whilst I’m trying to improve?

  • FASHION/ #HowIWearMyLove

Last year I was lucky enough to win a competition with one of my fave brands, ILWF, to receive a piece of clothing every month for a year. How exciting! Sadly, that year is over, but I wanted to share with you the pieces I picked and how I wore them (along with some of the memories!)

    Baby(doll) Love

Worn on holiday August 2014 in Turkey for a delicious romantic meal out with Mr Alice

A Floral Frock for a Solstice Birthday Gurl

Worn on my Birthday night out with the girls. The DJ wouldn’t play my birthday song at midnight (50 Cent In Da Club)

     J-Lo? Try J-Bar!

Swishy and fab! Also came with me to Turkey and out on a slightly tipsy night, the locals were shouting “oh my god, it’s Jennifer Lopez!” As I strutted (stumbled) through the streets of Kusadasi. Maybe they were drunker?!

     Jumpin’ Jumpin’

One of my fave A/W looks of last year. The cream phone boxes are something of a Hull phenomenon, we dance to the beat of our own drum here! This look was selected as an Editor’s Pick on Femail’s Today I’m Wearing.

    Top of the Crops

I felt like I was channelling my fave Clueless in this crop top! I also bought the matching skater skirt, gorgeous texture and quality.

    Wrap it Uuuup

This pic was taken by the lovely people at Hull Daily Mail when I featured in an article back in October (along with my #HullBloggers girly Charley). I was trying to be a pro and ignore the builders staring at me! You can shop the new season lilac version Here

    Check it Out

This was the look I wore to the #HullBloggers event in December, my favourite festive event aside from Christmas. So lucky to have made friends in these lovely girls.

    Wrap it up Some More!

Haven’t we sent this before? Yup, I liked it so much I had to get an A/W version. This look was also selected by Femail’s Today I’m Wearing as an Editor’s Pick. This dress is still in stock, click Here to buy!

    Grey ‘n Glam

This jumpsuit is sooo flattering and chic whilst being really comfy, a real holy grail! It’s still available to buy Here

    You’re Making Me Blush

I wore this for an Easter Day out with Mr Alice along the #hull Marina. It was perfect because the sun was shining but it was still a bit chilly so the long sleeves and high neck kept the chill out, but the crepe material meant I wasn’t too warm. It can be bought with a matching skirt and in a few different colours, but this gorgeous shade is still available Here

    Play Time

Worn for a recent day out with the girls shopping and blogging. Gorgeous colour for the summer and the material feels really luxurious and chiffon

All of these items have featured in their own blog posts between June and April if you want to read them, and most ILWF pieces can be bought in Top Shop and ASOS too. I still have one piece left to style and wear but o. Saving that for my trip to Vegas so keep you eye out for it.

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how I wear my Love, how do you wear yours?

  • FASHION/ Weekly Style Round Up

Hope you’ve all had a great week! The celebs have certainly had some great style moments, I had trouble picking which were faves. But I managed, and here they are!

    Animal Print Awesomeness

I’ve always enjoyed a good bit of animal print in my wardrobe, mine of my fave pieces being an old long sleeved body on dress from Kardashian Kollection. I enjoy it even more when the game is changed and it’s made into something a bit ore fab and out there like Kylie and Kimba, I want both these outfits! This wide leg jumpsuit from River Island was giving me a similar vibe-  It’s not leopard print but it’s red and Paisley which I’m all over for summer, so you can do boho Kylie. Kim’s exact look is by House of Holland (one of my fave for quirky styles!) buy her skirt and matching crop top from ASOS.

Skirt Fabulous  Like two lil twin kea – the Angela NE the devil with their matching curly blonde hair! I really like Chloe make up free actually, she should definitely do that more often. Tuxedo dresses are so sexy, kind of the acceptable way of wearing your boyfriend’s shirt out of the house. I’ve found a gorge version of Danielle’s by Pretty Little Thing which also comes in black, for Chloe’s more military inspired look this Vesper frock by ASOS hits the mark.

Kara’s been looking really good lately! Such a simple and easy look yet really chic. You can buy a skirt similar to at Miss Pap gutted that I haven’t tracked down her lush top though! However Dorothy Perkins have a suede dress in the same colour which I have my beady eyes on.

Happy Birthday Koko! It was her 31st birthday yesterday, and like the best of us *cough, me hopefully* she just keeps getting more fab as she’s ages. I adore simple two piece looks and they look even more awesome when you have a body like THAT. You can recreate her look with this stripey number by New Look.

    I Can See (Through) You!

I like that both of these outfits are hitting the same trend but totally differently – full on sexy whoomph there it is and girly innocence. Both all kinds of awesome for the summer.

     Glam Squad

I can’t even cope with how amazing these girls look…I mean, who looks this great in real life?!?! I only have one word for how I feel about these looks: daaaaaaaaaamn.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s looks, thanks for reading

    FASHION/ Birthday Haul

As you saw I got a lot of clothing for my birthday, so I thought I’d share it in a video! Hope you like 😘

    Fashion. Food. Fun/ It’s ma Birthday, It’s ma Birthday…

I enjoy birthdays a lot, but for the last few years I’ve had a major chip on my shoulder about my age. I don’t know if it’s being at uni and being around people a lot younger that seem way cleverer than me, or whether it’s because I haven’t achieved my career goals yet. It may even be because I kind of like going to bed at 9pm on Friday nights sometimes because there’s no alarm to wake me up the next morning. But I have a great feeling about my new age so I’m going to try and stop the “I’m so old, woe is me” thoughts NOW.

    Night Out

Mr Alice and I hit the town, drank mojitos and had a good giggle. My skirt is part of a coord by In the Style by Lauren Pope (it’s sold out but she’s just launched her high summer collection which is definitely worth a look) and my shoes are Ego.

This pic is a drink that I’ve come to know as a traditional Hull right of passage – it’s a shooter called S**t on the Grass which is from a pub in the Old Town called Machester Arms. If you’re ever here, you need to try it.

    Fashion

It’s been a big year for us money/celebration wise so I was expecting a fairly low key birthday…but boy was I spoilt! This is just some of the clothing I got, there were different bits too which I’ll share soon. I’m going to attempt a ‘birthday haul’ video shortly so look out for it (as well as pieces and items on future posts)

A Lil’ Cocoa Never Hurt Nobody

I’ve heard so many good things about Roast and Conch by Hotel Chocolat that it was high time I tried it for myself! It has a nice vibe of relaxing wood study meets exposed steel loft, and I was not disappointed by the food. Delicious! My only critique would be that they overcharge a little for the portion sizes given that we’re up North, and it’s a shame they don’t offer their usual set menu on weekends as it would’ve made an ideal Sunday lunch option. I didn’t have dessert as Mr Alice had treated me to a massive piece of my favourite cake from my fave bakery and I didn’t want to spoil my appetite for that.

    Thanks for reading!
