FASHION & LIFESTYLE / Stylings of a Graduate
And just like that, it’s actually happened….I’m officially a graduate! It felt such a huge decision to quite my full time job at 28 and embark on this 4yr challenge, which at times has felt like an impossible struggle, but I made it. I more than made it actually, I did pretty well! Without uni I wouldn’t have started writing my blog, and without blogging I wouldn’t have met some of the loveliest people I know, so it’s been worth it in a lot of ways. I’m happier all round for the experience.
Finding the perfect graduation outfit has been a struggle – the uni want you wear something smart/formal, but as a girl you wanna wear something pretty! I feel like I’ve been thinking about it for most of my degree, and my final choice isn’t a look I expected to go for. I also had MAJE last minute shoe drama – I had a pair of gorge caged heels ready to go and then realised that each shoe was a different size…so although I like these shoes, I had intended to wear something a bit more statement under the robe.
(Pics were taken throughout the day so are a little more candid than usual…you know how these events are)
I almost wore white underwear…after seeing the dress went a lil’ see through with the camera flash I’m glad I didn’t! The perfect dress as its slinky, comfy and stylishly ruched own the sides, as inspired by my gurl Kim K. I’ll be taking it with me to Vegas too so I may post it on here again (it’ll definitely be on Instagram so make sure you’re following)

FASHION/ Wrapped Up and Neutral
So today is quite important for me…I’m finally going to graduate y’all! Make sure you check back later in the week as my next post will feature the outfit I’ve chosen. Hint: it’s a mix of classic and celeb inspired. But moving on to THIS look, which is from the weekend. I’m really embracing neutrals this summer (not that I’ll forget about colour or monochrome, obviously) as its not a palette I wear very often. I also like that the wrap styles of the pieces as they enhance what are for me two of the most “womanly” assets I have – boobies and a semi-decent waist.
My boobs (specifically the right one) were keen to make an appearance from underneath the wrap so I just popped a teeny gold safety pin inside and pinned against the seam – it worked a treat AND toned in with the rest of the colours.
My skirt was a present from my mother in law as seen in my Birthday Haul Video, I really like the wrap and mixi hem to tie in with the top half. I got this in my normal size but because it’s stretchy it’s a little big around the waist for me, however I’d be more tempted to stick with this size and take it in than size down as I don’t think that option would be that kind to my ass! It comes in a couple of other gorge summer colours and I’m looking forward to styling it a bit more casually next time.
The shoes are similar to the snakeskin beauties from my Khaki Kool post last week, but the cut out sections just make them feel a bit more girly and summery which I adore. And they’re such good value!

FASHION/ Weekly Style Round Up
Another week, another round of fab celeb style. Take a look at what I’m enjoying…
These girls are totally repping the fact that white can be worn by pretty much everybody…we shouldn’t be scared of it anymore! Una’s dress in particular has a great on trend shape with that polo neckline and cut out section by AX Paris but still looks very classy… I feel like it looks much more expensive than its £30 price tag too. Maybe one for my Vegas wardrobe?I always have high standards for Naomi outfits but I don’t think I’ve ever featured her before, weird! This is such a cute summer dress, a lot of people think of white lace as bridal but this shows that’s not so. This isn’t the same style but I think this coord by Stephanie Pratt x Missy Empire is another great example of how it works really well for that chic evening look.
Kim’s Lavish Alice dress is a more stylish take on the tie dye stuff we usually see in the summer – the monochrome palette keeps it feeling chic and the marble-like print keeps it a lil’ quirky. If you’re going to wear a Bardot dress this summer though, remember: watch out for dodgy tan lines!
I sooooo enjoy pastel hair, I think that’s because I’m too scared to try it out myself…maybe one day…Its awesome that Kylie’s used her mermaid locks as the main accessory to her outfit, I really like that she’s kept the overall look really clean and basic aside from some metallic arm candy. I’ve found a similar jumpsuit to Kylie’s at ASOS , and for those braver than I you can rock that blue hue courtesy of Bleach London in Washed up Mermaid (I’ve great things from those who’ve used this brand). You could even personalise your accessories by adding a Cherry Diva hand stamped bangle which are currently 50% off…go go go!
Peachy Keen

I almost fell off my chair taking in Solange’s look, it just seems so…well normal! I often appreciate her style but I’m attracted to this look because it feels very Parisian chic (which I believe is where she was) yet still very Solange with the eye catching metallics and clashed up strappy sandals. Tres Bien Madam Knowles! Even though it’s orange this Pretty Little Thing dress is a really similar style in just once piece, it’ll be really flattering when the skirt flares as you walk too.I heart Lucy! I’ve been pashing over her new campaign with Pretty Little Thing since it launched last month – this outfit is actually more pink and a gorge crepey material that’ll feel cool and comfy when the weather isn’t. You can pick up her trousers here and sleeveless duster jacket here (both should be back in stock in all sizes soon). The whole collection is definitely worth a look – a mixture of tailored and more fluid pieces in gorgeous summery tones from the muted to the vibrant. Perfect for anywhere you’re going.
Hollywood Glam
There’s very little I can say about Lily and Demi other than the following – please can we be friends, please can we go out sometime, and please can we swap clothes?!?!?Blue is the Colour, Sassy is the Game
‘Ain’t nuthin’ sad about this blue! Festicool has never looked so fun before Miss Dunn (didn’t intend that to rhyme, but it does so I’m going with it) but I’m a teeny bit sad as I kind find this Moschino outfit anywhere….boooooo….I’ve had a bit more luck with Rochelle’s Dress, which is classic MOTO at Top Shop. A great denim dress is always a winner for S/S in my eyes but finding the perfect one can be as much of a pain as finding jeans, and then summer’s almost over when you do! So thanks Roch for giving us a leg up nice and early on where we can find a good ‘un, I really adore this braid/fishtail plait combo and super simple tan accents, I wish I had the hair to try and recreate the hair.
We all strive for a great ‘day to night’ piece, and this is Kendall’s take on that Holy Grail. It’s not what a lot of people would probably think of since its jersey fabric but it’s ideal for the humid London weather flitting between festival and dinner. The spaghetti straps are also practical for slipping off the shoulder to avoid tan lines in the day but look dressy in the evening whilst hitting that 90s trend I’m still enjoying, so definitely job well done Kenny. There’s a brilliant copy of this dress at Pretty Little Thing for the absolute steal if £8!! It comes in quite a few colours too.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s looks, don’t forget to catch up with my own style posts from the week here and here.
You can also pick up some gorgeous summery bits (some as seen in previous posts) on my Depop page, search for @iamjennychat . Whatever you need an outfit for, I bet you can find it here. Happy Shopping!

FASHION/ Khaki Kool
It’s looking like a bit of a khaki week! My wardrobe is full of it at the moment though so it’s inevitable, I’ve rationalised that it’ll all work really well in the winter too so I can keep on buying more…hehe. I mentioned this outfit a few weeks back when I blogged Danielle Lloyd wearing the black version as a top. It’s actually a waistcoat, but as you can see I’m not wearing it that way either!

I need to impress on you how fab the service is from Missy Empire where this beauty is from – not only are they great value, but they also offer discounts AND free standard delivery…so I got this fairly cheaply AND it ended up arriving within 2 days! There’s a reason they’re one of my new faves.
The material of this waistcoat is kind of silky, scuba-ey fabric which feels great next to skin but please take this advice seriously: keep an eye on it if you’re wearing it as a top or dress as the fabric may slide and reveal more than you bargain for!! I’ve still got my beige (seen on Instagram) and mocha version in the bank to share as well, I’m I’m seriously tempted by the black…should I?
I thought the Tattoos made a nice change to jewellery as accessories for the summer; I have loads of them in gold, silver and rose gold so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of them over the summer! These shoes you’ve seen before as I’m still obsessed with them, it’s amazing how snake print just works with errrthang (or is that just in my wardrobe?)
The main thing about shooting this look has prompted me to finally acknowledge that I’m not the happiest with how I look at the minute – a combo of been currently sans gym (thanks to a mistake with my membership) and bouts of weak mind with food choices is to blame and I don’t want to feel bad about myself anymore! So I’m resolving pub, icky that I’m going to start addressing this ASAP, feel free to share encouragement or any particular tips that you’re using to help you.

FASHION/ “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
This quote has really hit home with me in the last week as I found out on 1 July that, after four years of effort and experiencing every emotion I know possible, I’ve passed my degree and am going to be graduating with a 2:1. Yay me!
When Mr Alice saw me wearing this outfit his exact words were “you look like Pocahontis” since I was going for a summer, boho type vibe I guess that’s kind of a compliment?!?! And I had no idea that we had a Nelson Madela freedom wall in Hull, until I stumbled across it on a drive…perfect all round I’d say!
This two piece you’ll recognise as I’ve already posted my powder blue version back in May (see here) as well as my newest pink/black stripe version that was featured in my recent Birthday Haul video. I also have it in black (the top I already shared in my blog birthday post) which will probably make an appearance in Vegas. This is my first purchase from Miss Foxy after seeing some of their pieces in Instagram and I’m totes impressed. The quality is good and their prices are unreal – not only was the price of both items less than £18 but I also got a very generous 20% student discount off that! Definitely a brand I’ll be visiting again.
Obviously the weather has been a bit warmer this week, this material is light and cool so ideal for that but the long sleeves do make it a little hot when it’s full on sun, so there’s also a sleeveless top that may work quite well which you can see here (I’m not sure if the material is different)

What do you think of my boho vibes, shall I revisit it for future outfits?
