For me, the festive period is also a time to wish I was somewhere just a little bit warmer and more chilled out than the UK usually is right about now! Last year I said I wanted to go to Iceland, Aruba or Las Vegas in 2018, none of which I managed, so I have re-adjusted expectations for the year ahead and will hopefully make a least a couple of them happen.
After visiting Santorini this summer and really liking it, this seems like the next natural step on the ‘chill places of Insta-worthy dreams’ list. I adore Greek food, architecture and saying “yammas” whilst being slightly drunk in the daytime, so I’m already sowing the seeds with the Mr for this one to happen.
This is one on the Mr’s list actually, so it’s something I know could be likely to happen as it won’t take much convincing! I’m not sure what kind of Ibiza experience I’m expecting when saying I’d like to go there – the last time I went I was 15 so I haven’t ever done the whole club thang, and I think I may be getting to the point where it may look a bit sad if we tried to do that, but I think somewhere near to the action with a cheeky trip to Cafe Mambo may be perfectly acceptable. If you’ve visited Ibiza on the wrong side of 25 and have any suggestions as to where to go or what to do I’d love to hear them.
I would like to do at least 1 city break abroad, however the location is a bit ‘airy fairy’ as it’ll depend on when we end up booking our main summer holiday for and planning something that fits in around that. Off the top of my head I wouldn’t say no to a cheeky Italian getaway to finally get my hands on some real pizza, past and prosecco.
One of my pledges for this year was to see more of the UK and, well, that was a slight fail for a genuine reason, but I plan to keep trying next year! My aim is to get back to a couple of my faves, Liverpool and London for starters, and then see where else we easily pop to for the odd night away to enjoy (I *may have started the ball rolling on this one but don’t want to say any more in case I ruin anything for someone reading this!).
Where is in your travel list for 2019?
See you tomorrow,
