That’s right; I’m not only ‘back’ but I’m back to posting a (sort of) monthly round up!
I have still been doing something like this on my social media accounts but a photo and 5 words isn’t quite the same (and I have NEVER been the type to say less in any scenario).
This roundup will be a little different, more of a whistlestop of the whole year so far rather than one month. It’ll still be a short-ish read – even so; I’d recommend pausing here, grabbing a brew and getting comfy before you have a nosey at the rest of the post.
Brew ready? (Or ice coffee, it IS July)
Comfy?
Good!
What I’ve been wearing

This year I’ve been trying to find new ways to wear my current clothes so I’m still shopping less but not bored by my outfits. Pinterest has been my lifesaver for this. I have 2 boards – ‘outfits to wear in 2026’ (where the inspo pics get pinned to) and ‘outfits worn in 2026’ (where the pics get moved to after I’ve worn an outfit).

I’ve also gotten more into Vinted this year which has save me a lot of money on shopping (but costs a lot more time!) and has helped me find some items that are sold out online.
What I’ve been watching
- Katie price doc: what a twist and turn of emotions! I’ve followed the Pricey from before her I’m a Celeb days and forever have a soft spot for her. She’s been through a lot and has made some not so great choices but seems very resilient with a kind heart.
- Every Harlan Coban adaptation: I’ve watched them all (I wish they were all on just one channel/platform) I don’t have a favourite but I’m less fond of the ones that are dubbed to English as the storylines haven’t felt as strong in those.
- Drag Race: A few key opinions – I didn’t think season 18 was boring like many people have said, I like the All Stars bracket format but don’t think they’ve quite nailed on the post-merge bit, the producers need to be a bit more subtle in how and who they’re pushing, why has Canada got an All Stars season before the UK? Only being able to watch on one very niche app that is only for Drag Race content is also exceptionally annoying – it has turned me into a binge watcher from a live watcher so no spoilers!
What I’ve been doing
- I have a new job: I mentioned in my previous post that my I’ve changed jobs a few times in the past couple of years through a series of circumstances. I started my most recent role at the beginning of July which is going well; the biggest change is that it’s my first fully remote role which so far I’m adapting to well (any tips welcome). Maybe it’s time to finally sort out an office space in the house after 4 years of saying I need to….

- Updated my bingo card: I say the phrase “that wasn’t on my bingo card” for the year an awful lot so this year I decided to make one instead of a vision board. I used the Canva template below and split my goals into Health, Work, Travel, Home and Social/Content. I’ve done a decent job with the health and travel goals so far, the other ones have fallen a bit behind but there’s still a few months to pull it back.

- Gone back to the red side: not quite as red as I went during lockdown 1 if anyone had been here long enough to remember that! This is a more subtle and darker shade that is vibrant in sunlight.

- Had 2 short holidays: I hopped over the Canaries just before Easter and spent 4 days in Las Palmas for a beach city break that’s been on my list for a while. (you can see a bit more of my trip here). Then at the end of May I headed to Corfu for 4 days in what is my third visit since my 2024 hiatus! (currently in my repeat visit era) it was very much a ‘fly and flop’ trip to Sidari so probably not post worthy – however if you’re heading that way and want some food/drink recommendations you can find some in my Travel/Holidays playlist on Tik Tok.

In the news
I feel like maybe the less said about this the better right now! I’m sure there’ll be a few topics that feel a bit less divisive that I’ll chat about soon.
August is a very busy month for me so there’ll be lots to talk about in the next episode, just for a change 😉
Thanks for reading,
J
