  • FASHION/ Summertime Sadness (boo!)

I only titled the post because the weather seems to dictating that it’s nearly over and that’s a bit sad….sob! So as the A/W collections are dropping on the high street, I wanted to keep the sun shining and share another of my fave holiday evening looks. It’s cute and a little boho meets casual glam I think, depending on how you style it. I was aiming for the cute angle

    IMG_4342.JPG

I was unsure of what to do about the bra sitch due to the top half of the back being all lace, in the end I went for a nude bandeau as it blended well with my skin tone (but obviously still visible)

    IMG_4331.JPG

I tried something a bit different (well, for me) with my trusty Hair Rehab London bun. I keeping with the cute, laid back vibe I was attempting, I went for a low side loose messy bun with a few loose strays hanging out. For a first attempt it wasn’t bad but definitely room for improvement. If anyone has tips I’d be more than happy to hear them!

    IMG_4332.JPG

And as usual I went for my go-to nude block heel sandals by Dotty P which are ideal for navigating tricky holiday/night out terrain (being from Hull and having to negotiate the cobbled streets of the Old Town in the dark after a couple of lemonades, I know how valuable this is!) they also come in some gorgeous metallic shades for the new season that up the glamour ante which I’ll definitely be getting.

  • FASHION/ Weekly Style Round Up

So I probably would’ve done a huge section (or even post) about V festival looks today, but that kind of felt a bit predictable to do that. As the weather has felt a little chillier this week, the looks I’ve liked seem to be more transitional so are better inspiration going forward methinks.

    Brit Gurls do it Well

    IMG_4597.JPG

When does VB ever NOT do it well though?? The best thing about her look here is that it’s so incredibly simple to create – pretty much anybody could find similar pieces in their price range and look fairly put together wearing them, as long as they fit properly. It’s possible to play with the shapes of the pieces as well to flatter individual shape- for me, I might switch out the straight blazer for my peplum version (see below) and either a shorter or tucked in top or one as my waist is the smallest bit I like to try and highlight this. The Whitmore is always at the top of my fave style lists so not really much more to say as she is always fab in my eyes! I normally don’t mind Alexa’s style but it’s not my fave, this look caught my eye as it flatters her figure a little more with the floatiness of the fabric so kind of softens her a little.

    A cross the Pond…

    IMG_4598.JPG

Blue is one of my fave colours (the other is pink, shocker) joggers and coords are two of my fave styles for the moment, so it makes sense that I like what Jessica and Taylor are wearing! Paired with a different top half the joggers are going to carry on working into A/W, keeping with the blue these blue Aztec ones from New Look are budget friendly and right on trend http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/trousers-and-shorts/blue-aztec-print-joggers-_320109449 . Coords are also going to carry through, though in darker colours/thicker fabric. There’s some fabulous ones out now in darker colours that’d be great to keep wearing until then end of the year!

    Put a Ring ooooon it

    IMG_4546.PNG

    IMG_4562.JPG

The top set of hands belong to the E! fashion Police ladies – Kelly O and G Rancic. Kelly got G the F**k ring for her birthday and I think they’re really cute…it’s ironic how such a hard work looks so chic and dainty! The other hands belong to Lily Allen and I’m digging in her horseshoe ring, I could always use a lil bit of luck!

    Street Style

    IMG_4555.PNG

So this is kind of street style, kind of celeb. The lovely lady pictured is Claire of Claireabella bag fame and I unashamedly pilfered this pic from her own blog because I’m pashing on her look! As you know, monochrome and print are my faves so this is soooo working for me. Good to know that your style is as cute as your cartoons Claire!

Keep your fashion eyes peeled for more style posts coming next week

  • FASHION/ Oh My God, it’s Jennifer!

When I wore this outfit, several Turkish men shouted this as I strutted past. How clever, they know my name, I thought….but no. Turns out, actually meant that they thought I was very J-Lo esque with my look…I’ll take that! The half skirt does flow out semi dramatically if you get a bit of a stride on which could be a bit ‘Popstar in a wind tunnel’ I guess, but that and the name are sadly where the comparisons to la Lopez end

    IMG_4410.JPG

The only thing I’d mention about this look – the shorts kind of morph into big pants when you sit, so being confident about you thighs is a bit of a must. As you can see some of the pics are a teeny bit blurry at the bottom, that’s where I was trying to swirl the skirt out so it’d look fab on the pics. Didn’t work so well, the real J-Lo would’ve handled that task like a boss! I thought about taking a video of me walking, or on the rocks later on when the wind was a bit stronger, but then I ended up having wine (I don’t drink) and both may have been a bit hazardous….maybe next time.

  • FASHION/ In da Club

Before I went on holiday I’d heard that the resort had a lot of beach clubs and was really excited to go to one (Unfortunately the one recommended to us turned out to be for locals who didn’t really like British Tourists) This is what I wore (no close up of the shoes as my feet were covered in blisters and nobody deserves to see that!)

    IMG_4469-0.JPG

The fabric for each piece is comfy to wear and walk around in, and the top’s floaty sleeves give a bit of much needed ventilation. I think this is a great piece to wear in the evening and also for a festival (it also comes in several different prints, next on my list is Flamingo) with the right bottoms and footwear (can’t imagine these delicate little gold flip flops faring well in Glasto mud!) as I’m partial to a statement tee I thought my holiday was a great place to try out my statement tote, especially since Clueless is one of my all time faves and I’m generally quite so myself….I scrunched my own hair into a tiny top knot just to keep it off my face and neck, and added the cat eye sunnies as they shape is little more glamorous
